Looking Forward To Retirement Living

Moving is a big deal whenever you’re in your retirement years. After all, there are a lot of questions you may have that feel unanswered, leaving your nervous and hesitant to make the change. At The Windsor Senior Living, we make sure that retirement living is something to look forward to. Our community strives to make a happy and fun environment for each of our residents. In fact, residents may even find new hobbies and more freedom when they live here with us!

Proving Care That Our Residents Need and Want

Residents and their families have the power of choice at hand in their living arrangements. There are two main options to choose from—Assisted Living and Independent Living. Independent Living residents receive:

  • Continental Breakfast and Five-Course Lunch
  • Daily Check-Ins
  • Satellite Television
  • Water Services
  • Sewer Services
  • Trash Pick-Up
  • Medical and Social Transportation
  • Light Housekeeping
  • Security System and Camera Monitored Entrances

Some residents need some extra care, so we also have our full Assisted Living package available. Their apartment homes are on the same floor as independent residents, and they receive all services in the privacy and safety of their own homes. This option includes all the services in the Independent Living package as well as the following:

  • Daily AM and PM Dressing
  • Bathing Assistance
  • Medication Assistance
  • Bed Making
  • Dishwashing
  • Three Daily Meals
  • Meal Delivery
  • Laundry Service
  • Housekeeping Two Times A Week

Of course, not everyone has the same needs as their neighbors. We have A La Carte amenities for residents who require more help than those using the Independent Living resources, but less than Full Assisted Residents. Each of the following services is available to pick and choose from, so the resident isn’t paying for something that doesn’t benefit them:

  • Medication Assistance
  • Bathing and Dressing Assistance
  • Ambulation Assistance
  • Extended Personal Assistance
  • Visual Check-Ups
  • Scheduled Blood Pressure Checks
  • Housekeeping
  • Evening Food Services

Retirement living doesn't need to be a hard choice. Find out why The Windsor is the best for you.

Creating A Fun Atmosphere

No matter the living package, every resident is on our activities plan! Sedentary lifestyles are no fun and, ultimately, harmful to their health. Daily exercise can provide seniors with the strength and motivation to maintain their independence and mobility. We have various activities for them to choose from as well.

  • Yoga Classes
  • Live 2-B Healthy Customized Classes
  • Ball Exercise Classes

As great as exercise is for our health, it can lose its excitement if you don’t spice up your routine. So we also provide a wide variety of events, fun games, activities, continuing education, and more for each resident. Residents will never be alone or bored when they don’t want to be at The Windsor. They may even discover a passion they didn’t know they had!

  • Wii Bowling
  • Bingo Games
  • Coffee Chats
  • Birthday Happy Hours
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Special Events (Chef Soiree and Senior Prom)
  • Protestant and Catholic Services
  • Fun Outings (Casinos, Movie Showings)

Community Matters

Back in the day, the decision to move to a senior living community was often made of medical necessity. It was common to only see families moving their loved ones to assisted living after a health crisis. However, this stigma has radically changed in recent years. We are now seeing a surge of older adults making the move to senior communities as a lifestyle choice. Seniors are taking advantage of opportunities such as health services offered by these communities.

It doesn’t matter if you’re in search of an independent senior living or an assisted living community, community matters. At The Windsor Senior Living Community, you’ll find residents participating in a host of different activities. From Mardi Gras balls to weekly field trips—our community stays active. You can even see what some of our local residents have to say! If you’re looking for an active senior living community in Mandeville, Windsor is the place for you.

You deserve a senior community in Mandeville that cares about you and your social needs.

The Benefits of Belonging to a Senior Community In Mandeville

Living within a senior living community comes with a plethora of benefits. The activities curated within a senior living community aren’t about keeping seniors busy. In actuality, these activities are the stepping stones that bring our community together. The benefits of belonging to a senior community in Mandeville aren’t only felt, they’re lived!

Many seniors worry they give up their independence when they move to a senior living community. It’s actually a pretty common fear. But don’t doubt the facts. Residents report their quality of life improved after transitioning into independent living. In fact, research into senior health has proven the following:

  • Older individuals who socialize and exercise report the highest levels of well-being and happiness.
  • Having deep-rooted social relationships is a higher predictor of longevity. These relationships are correlated with reduced rates of depression and better cognitive health.
  • Seniors who remain physically active have lower rates of heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, and cancer.
  • When the elderly remain active and sociable, they have higher levels of cognitive health.

The activities at senior living communities are built into everyday life. With the addition of catered meals and regulated nutrition, longevity is an afterthought. At The Windsor Senior Living, we give you all the tools you need to build a healthy and happy retirement.
