Lylln Brinkman, a native of Lake Charles, Louisiana, graduated from Lake Charles High School and furthered her education at McNeese State University with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Lylln also completed her master’s in Christian Education with Music Emphasis with the Scarritt College for Christian Workers in Tennessee. She is certified in Christian Education and Church Music. In addition, Lylln has been a diaconal minister for 30 years in the United Methodist Church serving local churches in Louisiana as well as churches in Arkansas. She and Rick, a compliance officer for the Louisiana Department of Labor, married in 2006–8 weeks after Hurricane Katrina hit the area. They have 4 “children”—their cats Abbey, Sammie, Tigger and Skipper. In her spare time, Lylln enjoys vocal music, playing the piano, reading, crafts and stitchery.
